ABSOLUTE BEGINNER SEWING COURSE

Register

Hi there,

I'm so excited that you're interested in learning to sew! Whether you've never touched a sewing machine or tried once and want to start fresh, this course is designed just for you.

Over four weeks this coming January 2026, you'll go from complete beginner to confident sewist, creating beautiful, functional projects you'll be proud to use and wear. We'll start with the fundamentals—understanding your machine, mastering essential stitches, and building techniques—then apply those skills to real projects: a professional tote bag and your very first garment, the Minimalist Cardigan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please read through all of the information below.  Once you register, I will reach out to set up a one to one call to review all of the details/supplies and answer any questions you might have before we begin.

What You'll Learn:

Week 1: Begin to learn the foundations of sewing - parts of the machine, basic stitches, essential techniques (create your personal reference samples).

Week 2: Professional tote bag - learn to work with heavier fabrics, create strong handles, and master structural sewing techniques.

Week 3: Minimalist Cardigan by Tropical Research- learn to sew your first garment based on your measurements. Click here to purchase and download the pattern that we will be working with. Only do this after we have had a one to one conversation.

Week 4: Perfect your projects & reinforce your new skills - finish details, troubleshoot techniques, and build confidence.
